![]() I don't see much sense in mining more because. All the while stacks upon stacks sit in my original base far far away. The amount of times I've been restricted from building and doing what I want because of metal is a large and frustrating amount. I'm building a small base in the Plains because you kinda have to. Forget any and its a round trip upwind were you gain nothing and accomplish nothing. You can't repair without more metal and a forge. You can't make better light sources without copper. It feels insidious and sadistic to me because metal is tied to many things you can make with your hammer. The restriction is nothing but pointless time wasting. Unless you want to make boat after boat, you have to eventually go get it and bring it back home. Long Ships are expensive and how many people are littering them all over the world? It also takes 100 nails which means more metal anyway. The boat excuse isn't a good enough excuse. ![]() Metal is too gated and for no reason other than to waste massive amounts of time. Solves the problem of having to come up with what to add. Repeating procedural biomes with the same limited structure pool and little reason to explore the too large map. ![]() I feel like the devs have set a foundation where the next updates just solve problems instead of leaving them as they are. Imho, its the worst design decision I've ever seen in a video game in my life. (and no, I am not the no-patience type of guy, but if I want to carry stuff from A-to-B I'll go play some truck simulator or farming sim, I didn't get into Valheim for that.) The whole reason why I bought Valheim because I was sick and tired of the time sinks built into Elite:Dangerous and FDev called it "gameplay", so when encountering this issue I've got the distinct "not again" feeling. Let's just say this is making me think twice if I want to load up the game again, because I cannot do what I want to do, cannot explore and develop my base the way I see fit because of a stupid and artificial limitation on a game mechanic, so players would sink in more hours into the game. I spent the last 3 days gathering supplies to build two portals so I can transport copper and tin to my base which has the forge and smelter and everything I wanted to use.Īnd now I find out that ore cannot be transported because. So for me there is little-to-no use for a ship because the copper deposits are on the hills and mountains. O_O I'm one of the players who tend to play in an organic fashion.
